Theatre summer camp in Interlochen, MI
Interlochen Arts Camp, founded in 1928, is the summer program of Interlochen Center for the Arts on a 1,200-acre campus between two freshwater lakes in northwest Michigan. More than 3,300 students in grades 3-12 attend each summer from 54 US states and territories and 44 countries. Instruction is offered in seven arts disciplines: creative writing, dance, film and new media, interdisciplinary arts, music, theatre and visual arts. Session lengths range from one-week Intensives for high schoolers to six-week sessions, with tuition covering room and board, classes, group instruction, recreational facilities and admission to performances. The camp maintains a 1:2 faculty and staff to student ratio, offers 400+ extracurricular activities, and awarded $5.1 million in financial aid in 2025.
One-week Intensives for grades 9-12; two- and four-week sessions for grades 3-6; three- and six-week sessions for grades 6-12. A student's division is based on current grade level. Applications open Sept. 1, with a Dec. 1 pre-assessment deadline, a Jan. 15 priority deadline and decisions released March 1.
