Hidden Valley Camp: Theatre Program and More

Hidden Valley Camp is a co-ed overnight arts and outdoors summer camp in Freedom, Maine, operating since 1948 on more than 350 acres with a private lake and pool. Campers ages 8 to 17 choose their own activities from a program that spans glass blowing, ceramics and other studio arts, theatre and dance, high ropes, kayaking, swimming, sports, horseback riding and llama and animal care. The camp is electronics-free and emphasizes an inclusive, expressive community with a balance of structure and camper choice. Most campers attend either the four-week first or second session; 1.5-session, full-summer and two-week introductory options for new campers ages 8 to 10 are also offered, along with teen wilderness adventure, advanced arts, apprentice and counselor-in-training tracks. The camp is ACA accredited and draws an international camper population.

1st or 2nd Session $8,925; 1.5 Sessions $12,950; Double Session $15,900; Intro half sessions $5,350. Teen programs: Hidden Valley Adventures (ages 14-16) $9,300 full / $5,525 half; Hidden Valley Arts (ages 14-16) $8,925; Apprentices (ages 15-17) $8,925; AWACs (ages 15-17) $6,700. Tuition is all-inclusive; $2,500 deposit at registration, 50% of balance due January 20 and full payment by March 20. Sibling, early-registration, alumni and public-service discounts of 10-20% are offered, and camperships are available.
