Centenary Stage Co. Young Performers Workshop

The Young Performers Workshop is the musical theatre training program of Centenary Stage Company, based at the Lackland Performing Arts Center on the campus of Centenary University in Hackettstown, New Jersey. It serves performers ages 8 to 18 at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels, combining classroom study in acting, voice and dance with hands-on production experience under program director Michael Blevins, a Broadway, film and television veteran. Registration is open to any young person regardless of experience, but applicants must complete an audition or interview before acceptance; once registered, students are guaranteed a role in at least one production and may appear in more than one. The program runs a fall session culminating in a Winter Festival of Shows, a spring session ending with a Spring Festival of Shows, and a five-week summer intensive beginning in July that closes with the Summer Festival of Shows.

Three sessions a year: fall session begins in September and ends with the Winter Festival of Shows in December; spring session begins in February and ends with the Spring Festival of Shows in May; the summer session is a five-week intensive beginning in July that culminates in the Summer Festival of Shows in August. All applicants must audition before acceptance.
