Camp Pemigewassett

Camp Pemigewassett is a sleepaway camp for boys ages 8 to 15 in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, founded in 1908 and accredited by the American Camp Association. About 170 campers live in groups of six to ten on a 470-acre property with a private lake, at a staff-to-camper ratio of roughly one to two. Campers choose among sports, water sports, nature, creative arts (music, art and drama), and hiking and canoeing trips; specialty hiking and canoe trips are included in tuition. Session options range from a two-week introduction for new younger campers to a full seven-week season, with a separate Pemi West program for 16-year-olds plus Family Camp and Women’s Weekend offerings. The camp awards upwards of $300,000 in scholarships to more than 50 campers each season, funded by the founding families and alumni gifts.

Boys ages 8-15 enroll in a 7-week full session, a 3-week first session, a 4-week second session, or a two-week introductory session for new 8-, 9- and 10-year-olds. A separate Pemi West program serves 16-year-olds. Tuition is non-refundable after January 15. New campers must submit a teacher recommendation with their application.
