Camp Moosilauke

Camp Moosilauke is an overnight summer camp for boys in Orford, New Hampshire, founded in 1904 and directed by Bill and Sabina McMahon. The 100-acre campus sits on a secluded mile-long lake used for sailing, kayaking, water skiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, canoeing, swimming, fishing and nature excursions. Land facilities include five clay tennis courts, two basketball courts, two baseball diamonds, two soccer fields, a lacrosse field and an archery range, plus a woodshop, arts and crafts center and two recreation halls; campers live in screened cabins with electricity. The program is built around character development through positive risk-taking across three areas - waterfront, land sports and outdoor adventure - on a schedule that balances structure and camper choice. Four-week, two-week and two-and-a-half-week sessions are offered along with a Counselor-in-Training program, and the camp reports awarding about $350,000 a year in need-based financial aid.
