Camp Betsey Cox

Camp Betsey Cox is a rustic overnight camp in Pittsford, central Vermont, founded in 1953 by Jean Smith Davies and Charles Davies and still run as a family business. It serves girls, young women and gender non-binary campers who are completing third through eighth grade, with a three-year leadership program for older participants. Campers build their own daily schedules from sixteen activities, including waterfront and pond swimming, horse riding, creative arts, performing arts and music, outdoor skills, farming, gardening, sports and an Ecoleader program. Cabin living is simple and safe, and singing after meals and at special programs is central to camp life. International staff support the program. Sessions of two, three, five or eight weeks run from late June through late August, with discounts, payment plans and sibling rewards shared with brother camp Sangamon.
