Rachel Potter Plays Joe's Pub With Michael Cerveris and More, 7/29

Rachel Potter is currently appearing as the Mistress EVITA. She appears alongside Ricky Martin, Elena Roger, and Michael Cerveris. Rachel made her Broadway debut as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family starring Brooke Shields, following a tour with Stephen Schwartz's smash hit musical, Wicked (Glinda u/s). Rachel has also performed the roles of Ariel, Belle, and Nemo, among others, at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Her debut Country album was released May 2012, following an EP release concert at Joe's Pub on May 13th.

Rachel teams with Joe's Pub to celebrate the release of her debut country EP, "Live the Dream." This highly anticipated independent release marks her first collaboration with songwriter and producer, Justin York. The result of a successful Kickstarter campaign, an online independent fund raising platform, Rachel doubled her fundraising goal with the help of family, friends and fans. (http://kck.st/rxPxXa).

"It's got real guts," says Potter of the co-written EP, "We wanted to make a record that joined pop country music with a rock edge – Think Carrie Underwood or Taylor Swift with a Paramore twist. It's a risk, but it's exciting."

The evening will feature some of New York's finest musicians performing songs from the EP, as well as guest appearances by Michael Cerveris, Cosmo-Country sensation The Vanity Belles, and The Country Band featuring Marty Thomas. Afterparty to follow, location TBA.
