On Sunday, September 9 at 7PM, some of Broadway and cabaret's best presented a spirited original concert, "I Feel Good: Broadway Celebrates The Music of James Brown" at Birdland.
Chester Gregory (Tarzan, Hairspray), Aisha de Haas (Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me), Chuck Cooper (Caroline or Change), John Eric Parker (Rent), Joshua Henry (In The Heights), along with an 8-piece funk band, sang the songs made famous by the hardest working man in show business, James Brown! Amy Birnbaum produced and directed this event, which benefited the Broadway Inspirational Voices - a choir that unites people of all races, religions and backgrounds.
The legendary Birdland Jazz is located at 315 West 44th Street (between 8th & 9th Aves). Call 212-581-3080 for information or reservations, and visit www.birdlandjazz.com.
