The Laurie Beechman Theatre, the intimate cabaret theatre located within The West Bank Café (407 West 42nd St., @ 9th Ave) in the heart of New York's theatre district, is pleased to announce plans for our second annual New Year's Eve Celebration! On Monday, December 31st, we'll be putting our best foot forward as we salute 2008 with dinner, a champagne toast, a special musical performance by two of New York's most esteemed cabaret performers and much more. Please plan to join us in our sophisticated, casual venue as we celebrate the year that was, and welcome all that's yet to be.
 
Included in the price of each $98 ticket are complimentary hors' d'Oeuvres, a three course dinner specially created by Joe Marcus, Executive Chef of The West Bank Cafe, a musical performance by celebrated cabaret artists Lisa Asher and Brandon Cutrell, as well as a midnight champagne toast. Due to the central location of The Laurie Beechman Theatre, it is advised that all patrons arrive no later than 8:15pm.

The evening, in the intimate venue located in the heart of New York's Theatre District, includes hors d'oeuvres at 8PM, a three-course dinner at 8:30PM and musical performances at 10:15PM until the count-down and champagne toast with live television coverage of New Year's from Times Square!

The Menu: Chef's Selection of Appetizers include mixed baby lettuces, cucumbers, radish, red onion & lemon vinaigrette. Entre choices include Oven Roasted Free Range Chicken, haricot verts, mashed potatoes & light chicken broth; GrillEd Scottish Salmon lentils, red pearl onions, pickled radish & mustard sauce; Fresh Pappardelle Bolognese prosciutto, veal, beef & tomato ragout. Dessert choices are Chocolate Mousse cake, pumpkin cheesecake, coffee or tea and the Champagne Toast

"42nd and 9th: A Broadway Musical Celebration" is a brand new show, featuring music exclusively from The Great White Way. Prepare yourself for favorites from composers such as Stephen Sondheim, Lerner and Lowe, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Leiber and Stoller and Rodgers and Hammerstein, as well as some of musical theatre's most exciting newer composers including Michael John LaChiusa and Andrew Lippa. Featured musicals include My Fair Lady, The Wild Party, Company, Jesus Christ Superstar, Aspects of Love, Cinderella, The King & I and Xanadu. Joining vocalists Asher and Cutrell onstage are musicians Ray Fellman & Jeff Waxman on piano and guitar.
 
Lisa Asher's critically acclaimed one-woman show, Stranded in the Moonlight, recently completed a successful run at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, were she was hailed by audiences and critics alike, and awarded the New York Nightlife Award for Outstanding Vocalist. Lisa made her national television debut in a solo vocal performance on the Emmy Award-winning The Rosie O'Donnell Show, at the insistence of the show's musical director, John McDaniel. Ms. Asher is the recipient of a MAC (Manhattan Association of Clubs & Cabarets) Award for Outstanding Vocalist, as well as the Back Stage Bistro Award for her solo work in cabarets in New York. Her critically acclaimed debut CD, Let The Mystery Be, was nominated for a MAC Award for Recording of the Year, and her recent release Lisa Asher, Live at The Duplex, is available in stores nationwide. Lisa has appeared as a featured vocalist and actress in numerous concert and theatrical venues around the country. Recently, she appeared with Tony nominated songwriter/singer Craig Carnelia (Sweet Smell of Success, Imaginary Friends) at a sold out concert at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Recent theatrical credits include starring in the world premiere of two new musicals – I Married Wyatt Earp at The Bristol Riverside Theater and Almost Heaven . . . Songs and Stories of John Denver at the Tony Award-Winning Denver Theatre Center Company. Lisa has toured nationally with the Broadway show, The Who's Tommy and performed in the Off-Broadway hit, Woody Guthrie's American Song which received a Drama Desk Nomination for Best Musical. www.LisaAsher.com.

Brandon Cutrell is a Bistro Award and two-time MAC Award winner. In December of 2005, Brandon made his debut in the world-famous Oak Room at The Algonquin Hotel. In June of 2006, Brandon made his solo debut at Feinstein's, New York's legendary nightclub on Park Avenue. New York credits: Broadway By The Year and Broadway Unplugged, both at Town Hall, Pippin (with Ben Vereen and Rosie O'Donnell), La Gioconda at TheatreSource, David Friedman's King Island Christmas and Liz Swados' Waiting For Lefty. National: Theatre of the Stars, Goodspeed Musicals, the Human Race Theatre and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. For nearly two years, Brandon was the original host of the MAC Award nominated show, Mostly Sondheim. Currently, Brandon can be seen every Friday night at The Laurie Beechman Theatre on 42nd Street as the host of The After Party, a weekly open-mic, musical theatre soirée.
