After the success of his nine month engagement at Metropolitan Room at Gotham in 2008, Marcus Simeone returns with his all new show "Everything Must Change" for three very special performances only on Saturday, May 22 at 9:45, Sunday, June 28 at 7:00 and Saturday, July 11 at 7:30. Musical director Barry Levitt will once again lead the band.

Metropolitan Room at Gotham is located at 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues). There will be a $20 music charge and a $15 dessert/drink minimum. Reservations: (212) 206 0440.

Marcus Simeone is one of today's most acclaimed and respected vocalists on the cabaret scene. His multi-octave voice has earned him great acclaim from music critics and a rabid fan base that is growing since his Manhattan night club debut in 2000. He has been honored by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs twice and by Back Stage as Outstanding Vocalist. He has also twice been named one of Theaterscene.net Top Ten Outstanding Cabaret Artists (2007 & 2008).

The new show will highlight Marcus's own "changes" in music, the world - and Marcus. The eclectic song list will feature songs that reflect these assorted forms of funny and profound changes in sensibilities and the world we live in. He will sing songs from the catalogs of many great songwriters including Sammy Cahn, Bobby Darin, Carole King, Jimmy Van Heusen, Johnny Mercer and more.

Mr. Simeone became a club sensation and achieved wide recognition for his unique, haunting multi-octave voice and heartfelt interpretations of songs after his official night club debut at Don't Tell Mama in 2001. He has since performed locally at Arci's Place, The Duplex, Helen's and The Laurie Beechman Theater to wide critical acclaim. Over the last two years, he has toured the country with "Mathis," a tribute to Johnny Mathis (whom he has often been compared to).

Aside from praising his expressive singing and distinct vocal range, writers have compared Marcus to an eclectic mix including some of the great contemporary interpretive vocalists ranging from Al Jarreau to Jimmy Smith to Johnny Mathis and the late Eva Cassidy. Such is his androgynous sound, emotional range and soulful delivery that writer/music historian Will Friedwald wrote, "Like few other singers I have ever heard, Marcus Simeone gets both classic and contemporary pop songs to live side by side with each other and get along in perfect harmony. And he explores The Common ground between the two ... his beautiful voice, his extremely wide range, his ability to switch effortlessly from baritone to tenor to falsetto, and, likewise, his multi-generic ability to move easily between the worlds of pop, cabaret, theater music, soul and even jazz. Whatever he sings, he does it with total sincerity. Marcus Simeone is totally sincere, and I for one am glad that he's here."

In 2001 - 2002 Marcus was invited back to appear on NBC's "Live At the Apollo" several times.

He also made several appearances as a special guest on Charlie Daniels' "Talent Roundup" broadcast on TNN. He has also performed at Town Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center as part of the Cabaret Convention on several occasions.

Marcus's 2007 debut album, "At Last" (Miranda Music) has been hailed as a major accomplishment in live recordings: "(Simeone) ... has a lush, seductive voice that's beautiful ... Simeone sounds like the recording star he is." David Hurst, Next Magazine.
