JoAnne Worley Joins 'Cabaret Cares' Evening, July 30

JoAnne Worley, currently starring in the hit Broadway show The Drowsy Chaperone, will perform in the hit benefit series Cabaret Cares, which will be presented at the Laurie Beechman Theater.

The hit 2005 series returns this summer with some of Broadway's and cabaret's most talented performers. Cabaret Cares will be produced by Joseph Macchia with associate producers Robert Fowler and Angie C. Creighton of the Broadway hit The Producers.
 
The series will benefit the AIDS organizations Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS and Help Is On The Way Today. Broadway Cares is the nations leading industry based fund raising and grant making organization. Help Is On The Way Today assists children living with HIV and AIDS in the Tri-State Area.
 
"Once a month on a Monday night some of New York's most talented entertainers will take to the stage in a cabaret benefit show. The past series had such shows as The Producers, Wicked, Sweet Charity and more. This years series promises to be even better," state press notes.
 
On July 30th at 7PM, "Help Is On The Way: An Evening of Song" will be presented.  The evening will feature performances by Worley, Frank Galgano(Naked Boys Singing), Heather Parcells (A Chorus Line), Robert Fowler (The Producers), Liz McKendry (The Producers), Stacey Todd Holt (The Producers), and Peter Gregus (Jersey Boys), as well as cabaret performers Leslie Anderson (MAC Award Winner) and Peter Mac (Judy and Me), with more to be announced. Doors open at 6:30, and the show starts at 7PM sharp.
 
On August 27th at 7pm, "Judy and Me" will be performed by Peter Mac. "Mac returns to the stage for one night with his hit cabaret show 'Judy and Me.' Based on Mac's life growing up in a homophobic town on Long Island, and dealing with the domestic abuse that went on at home. Mac talks about how his love for Judy Garland got him through the rough spots in his life. The cabaret show which was then turned into a ninety minute play was only suppose to run for 4 nights in 2002 and became an overnight hit which would run for two years in New York."  Doors open at 6:30, and the show starts 7PM sharp.
 
The casts of Jersey Boys and Naked Boys Singing, as well as Divapalooza 8, will be featured in September.
