D.C. Anderson Headlines Oakeside Bloomfield's MUSIC AT THE MANSION Concert Series in NJ, 8/26

NiCori Studios and Productions in association with Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center announces a new installment in the monthly concert series, "Music at the Mansion", on Sunday, August 26, at 3pm. Performers to include cabaret performer Jenny Lynn Stewart, 4th Wall Theatre's cast of "Next to Normal" and award-winning Broadway singer D.C. Anderson.

Jenny Lynn Stewart has performed her one-woman shows, "The Sixties: On Broadway", "Lift Your Spirit, Richard Rodgers Revisited" and "Broadway Diva" throughout the United States. Last summer, she played the role of The Mother Abbess in a production of "The Sound of Music" at Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston where she starred opposite Patrick Cassidy. Equally at home on the operatic stage, Jenny’s operatic repertoire includes the title roles of "Aida", and "Tosca". Ms. Stewart made her Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist in Dvorak’s "Requiem".

4th Wall Theatre is the theatre in residence at the Westminster Arts Center on the campus of Bloomfield College, in Bloomfield, NJ. 4th Wall’s roots are here in Essex County. It was started by eight friends, who all worked as performers or artistic staff members at the Montclair Operetta Club in Montclair, NJ. 4th Wall’s mission has focuses on presenting diverse, seldom-performed, lesser known, or original works, which celebrate a wide spectrum of visions and voices in theatre. Proud of its commitment to cutting-edge theatre, the group has presented such works as "A New Brain", "Violet", "Assassins", "Nine", and "A Man of No Importance", to name just a few. 4th Wall just closed its 15th anniversary season with Jason Robert Brown’s "Parade". The group moves into their 16th season still looking to provide a positive theatre experience for its audience and performers. In October, "Next to Normal" will open the season.

D.C. Anderson is a Bistro Award winning singer/songwriter who is also an actor with Broadway (THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the upcoming REBECCA), Off-Broadway (QUEEN OF THE MIST), National Tour (MARTIN GUERRE, THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF NICHOLAS NICKLEBY, PIPPIN) and regional work at Steppenwolf, Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival, Rep Theater of St Louis, Shadowland, Ogunquit and Guthrie theaters in FARRAGUT NORTH, THREE POSTCARDS, THE LARAMIE PROJECT; EPILOGUE, DAMN YANKEES, AS YOU LIKE IT. He has ten solo CD recordings at Amazon and iTunes including his latest ‘Close Companions’. He conceived and produced the first Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS holiday recording – ‘Cabaret Noel’ back in 1993 featuring 22 new songs by musical theater writers. He conceived and produced a 20 artist folk genre CD to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in 2010 called ‘in my room’. Look for him at NYC’s newest music room—54 Below—on Sunday, December 3 with fellow cast members of Broadway’s REBECCA!

"Music at the Mansion" is a series showcasing talented performers from NYC and NJ. The series is hosted by NYC Cabaret singer and Bloomfield resident Corinna Sowers-Adler and features Terri Gorgone on piano. This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the door or by calling 973-429-0960 to make reservations. Seating begins at 2:30pm. Light refreshments will be served.
