X FACTOR Season 1 contestant Astro has announced via his twitter account that he has just signed a record deal with Epic Records. Astro will join his mentor on the Fox singing competition, LA Reid at Epic Records along with the Season 1 winner, Melanie Amaro

The rapper revealed on his Twitter account, "NYC #ASTROnauts pick up the Daily News today. Page 11. Great news for #TeamASTRO! Everyone else can tune in to @MTVRapFix at 4pm on MTV.com (sic)"

In a recent interview with the New York Daily News, Astro confirmed the news saying, "It's like a dream. . . . I can finally say I'm working on my album."
