WGN America Honors Late David Ogden Stiers With Weekend M*A*S*H Marathon
As a tribute to the late David Ogden Stiers, WGN america will celebrate his life with back-to-back "M*A*S*H" marathons starting Friday, March 9 from 7pm-12am ET/CT. The programming block will continue on Saturday, March 10 from 11am-10pm ET/CT. Fans are in store to enjoy over 15 hours of nostalgia with this cult-classic-filled weekend.
"M*A*S*H," one of the highest rated television series of all time, follows the side-splitting antics of the lovable surgeons of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital, who endeavor to make life more bearable during the Korean War. David Ogden Stiers played the beloved Major Winchester for six seasons and was a staple on the show. For his work on "M*A*S*H," Stiers was nominated twice for an Emmy® in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category in 1981 and 1982. Created by Larry Gelbart and Gene Reynolds and based on a book by Richard Hooker, the series was regarded for its social commentary on patriotism, duty, war and peace. During its 11 season run, it garnered eight Golden Globes, 14 Emmy® awards and a Peabody award, among others.
