The Hollywood Reporter shared an interview with Ricky Gervais in which he reveals that he may recreate his classic sitcom alter ego David Brent from the BBC sitcom The Office. Both the BBC and Netlfix have expressed an interest in bringing the character back in an all-new TV spin off.

The character is now on tour throughout the U.K. along with his fictional band Foregone Conclusion. The performances are stirring up a media frenzy over whether the group will appear at this year's Glastonbury music festival. "It could happen," Gervais told the U.K.'s Radio Times. "It would be amazing for Ricky Gervais, but I don't know if I can justify it. He can't play venues outside the story."

Gervais also shared, "I love David Brent but I can't just do it as a vanity project because the BBC and Netflix are up for it. I don't know whether to do an on-the-road special or make that the whole series."

The British verson of The Office signed off the air 11 years ago with two Christmas specials airing on BBC1.
