In the film, recent Ben Mendelsohn plays Gerry, a down-on-his-luck gambler whose fortune begins to change when he meets Ryan Reynolds' Curtis, a charismatic poker player who convinces Gerry to go on a road trip down the Mississippi River to attend a high stakes poker game in New Orleans.
