Country music star Blake Shelton says he wants to cut down his workload and focus on music by the time he turns 40. "I'd like to really, really slow down - and that means at some point, you know, the TV stuff's going to have to stop," Shelton told co-host Gayle King in an interview that was broadcast on CBS THIS MORNING today, April 5, 2013 on the CBS Television Network.

"And at some point, the touring will have to slow down," said Shelton, who will co-host the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday on CBS. "I just want to get back to just doing nothing but country music."

Shelton also discussed his early career, his new album and his reaction to tabloid reports of trouble in his marriage to country singer Miranda Lambert. Check out the appearance in full below!

Excerpts from the interview are below.

KING: When did you know that Miranda Lambert was the one for you?

SHELTON: I don't know that I ever really ever had any doubts that she was the one for me. You know, from the time I met her it just kept get-you know, we've had our ups and downs for damn sure along the way, you know-but I just could not imagine her not being in my life, I just couldn't get over her, I know I can't. And hopefully she feels that way, too.

KING: Which makes all these rumors about the two of you redonkulous, doesn't it, to you? You've seen all the headlines, you're in the magazines this week, last week.

SHELTON: We've been creeping into the tabloids over the last year and a half, you know-

KING: And how do you feel about that?

SHELTON: I honestly do love it.

KING: I'm surprised to hear you say you love it.

SHELTON: Well, I just know that to have that kind of coverage, and I'm popular enough that they want to put me and Miranda on that stuff, and that's awesome. I got an album coming out. Man, put my album next to it too, they'll pick it up, man, and take it.
