Late night hosts CONAN O'Brien and Seth Meyers took time to pay tribute to comedian Garry Shandling, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 66.

"He was a masterful writer, a performer who went on to create incredibly groundbreaking comedy shows that inspired an entire generation of comedians, myself included," praised O'Brien, adding "He was obviously hysterically funny, pretty much all the time, but he was also extremely sensitive, he was complicated and he had a ton of empathy for other people."

Shared Meyers, "You wanted to be friends with the guy who had the VHS tapes of The Larry Sanders Show - none of us could afford HBO, we were lucky to have a VCR." He explained that when an episode of 'Late Night' doesn't go as well as it could have, he always jokes, "Well, it's not Best of Larry."
