Hughes in VICTORIA

Tom Hughes has officially joined the cast of the film RED JOAN, as reported by Deadline. He joins a cast that is already filled by Dame Judi Dench, who will play the titular character.

The film follows a British grandmother who doubles as a British spy for the KBG. Her secret will be explained, as the film takes place in two eras: the first with an older Joan as she is exposed of her dual life and the next will be a flashback to her life in the 1930s.

Young Joan will be played by KINGSMAN: GOLDEN CIRCLE actress Sophie Cookson. Hughes will take on the role of Young Joan's love interest in this era, who is a Russian spy. He will inspire her to protect the world from danger.

Hughes is currently portraying Prince Albert in the ITVMasterpiece series VICTORIA.

Trevor Nunn will direct RED JOAN. The script is written by Lindsay Shapero.
