Universal to Release TOWNIES, Starring Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, May 9, 2014

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal will release its upcoming pic TOWNIES, starring Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne and Zac Efron, on May 9, 2014.

The movie follows a young couple (Rogen and Byrne) with a newborn who end up living next door to a frat house. Efron plays the "leader" of the frat.

Directed by Nick Stoller, TOWNIES is written by Andrew Cohen and Brendan O'Brien. The movie's May 9 release will put the project up against Jon Favreau's CHEF and TYLER PERRY'S SINGLE MOM'S CLUB next spring.

Rogen's other upcoming projects include B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations and Kung Fu Panda 3. He recently appeared on the big screen in This Is the End.

Byrne will next be seen in The Turning, Insidious: Chapter 2, This Is Where I Leave You, Tumbledown and Will Smith's Annie remake. She is well known for her role on the TV series Damages.

Efron's next projects include Parkland, Are We Officially Dating?, You Belong to Me, and Autobahn. He recently starred in The Paperboy with Nicole Kidman.
