Three Powerhouse Female Executives Join Forces To Co-Produce Bet's THE NEXT BIG THING on BET Premiering on October 16, 2018, BET's The Next Big Thing may aim to uncover tomorrow's superstars, but it's produced by three of today's most influential female executives.

This powerhouse trio-Rikki Hughes, Holly Carter, and Tina Davis-brings the ten-episode docu-music competition to life in 2018. The show proudly represents the union of three of the industry's African-American girl bosses behind-the-scenes for one game-changing project. These are the #LadiesofNBT.

Ms. Hughes stands out as an EMMY and GRAMMY Award-winning film and television producer. A long-time trusted collaborator of comedy icon Dave Chappelle, she recently produced NETFLIX's Equanimity-for which she won the EMMY for "Producer Outstanding Variety Special"-and The Bird Revelation in addition to The Age of Spin & Deep in the Heart of Texas whose companion soundtrack received the "Best Comedy Album" GRAMMY Award. Other credits include Hood Adjacent, HBO's All Def Comedy, and more, showcasing her diversity.

Ms. Davis figures prominently on-screen as a lead on the show, working with iconic producer Zaytoven to engage up-and-coming artists with the ultimate development boot camp and deliver what could be a star-making performance in front of major label scouts. A renaissance woman herself, Ms. Davis founded Phase Too, Inc., discovered and managed one of the defining R&B artists of our time Chris Brown, and held high ranking executive posts at Def Jam, Empire, and more. A veteran A&R, her eye for talent remains unparalleled.

About the show, the ladies had the following to share: Ms. Carter commented, "I was excited to work with Tina and Rikki to develop this idea because it's on brand with my passion to help others discover, define, develop, and platform their God-given talent."
"I created this show to elevate the talent pool overall," said Ms. Davis. "This show is for all of the artist that don't have access to the best vocal coaches, trainers, choreographers, writers, producers, and glam squads to take their career to the next level. If you want to be the best entertainer, you have to hustle hard to stand a chance against the greats. Artist development is what separates the good artists from the greats. On this show, you're in competition with yourself."

"Music has always been my passion and having an opportunity to come back to my first love in this way is very rewarding." Ms. Hughes further commented, "working as a producer in the comedy space, I've seen how important it is to provide real, life-changing opportunities for the next generation of talent. The Next Big Thing allows me to be a part of that process within the music space and being able to do this alongside two other black women, on a black network is so refreshing and exciting."

These three women stand poised to change the culture with The Next Big Thing.
