New York-area PBS station WNET will air "The Making of War Horse," on August 10. The special take viewers on a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of The National Theatre of Great Britain's staging of Michael Morpurgo children's novel.

The documentary, airing at 8 PM, traces the development of the 2007 National Theatre production, complete with interviews, rehearsal and backstage footage of the original cast, and excerpts from the show.

The current Broadway production and its cast members are not featured in the documentary, however several actors will be interviewed by WNET 13 during the airing.

The DVD is currently on sale at Lincoln Center Theater's Vivian Beaumont Theater, where the present production plays. The DVD includes an additional 70-minutes of footage.

War Horse premiered in London in 2007 and officially opened on Broadway April 14 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.
