The DC Shorts Film Festival Returns for 10th Year, Now thru 9/29
By: Movies News Desk
It's been ten years since the DC Shorts Film Festival started at just one theatre and took place over two days. Now in its tenth year, the DC Shorts Film Festival has grown in so many ways and is one of the best-known short film festivals in the country and the largest on The East coast.
The festival now lasts 11 days and shows over 150 films from 22 countries. Six theatres from across the DC area - from Rockville to Fairfax and Anacostia to downtown D.C. will be hosting the festival this year. This is the first major film event to take place in Anacostia in recent memory
The films run the gamut in genre, style and subject, but are unified by their abbreviated run times of one - twenty minutes. These films will be grouped together into 16 unique, 90-minute showcases shown throughout the festival. The showcases range in content with something for everyone, including dramas, comedies, animation, sci-fi, documentaries and experimental films. If you are unable to attend a showing, over 125 films will be available to view online as part of the festival.- Landmark's E Street Theater: 555 11th Street, NW; Washington, DC
