THOR: THE DARK WORLD Hammers Friday Opening with $31.6M; Aims for $80M Weekend

According to The Hollywood Reporter, after taking in a strong $7.1 million midnight sales, THOR: THE DARK WORLD - Marvel's follow-up to its 2011 film starring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman - opened to $31.6 million on Friday. This means the movie is setting its target at more than $80 million by Sunday, well beyond THOR's $65.7 million opening takings in 2011.
