THE VOICE Climbs as NBC Tops Demos

NBC (11.12 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 4.2, #1) was the top demo draw on Monday thanks to new episodes of THE VOICE (12.58 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 4.7, #1) and "Revolution" (8.21 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 3.1, #T4).

Here are the other highlights of the 13 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night:

CBS (8.67 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.8, #2) then took home the silver with its mix of "How I Met Your Mother" (8.14 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 3.2, #3), "Partners" (6.35 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T6), "2 Broke Girls" (10.12 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 3.7, #2), "Mike & Molly" (9.42 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 3.1, #T4) and "Hawaii Five-0" (9.01 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T6).

Next up was ABC (12.41 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.2, #3) with its top-watched lineup of "Dancing with the Stars" (13.33 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.1, #9) and "Castle" (10.56 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.2, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (5.27 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.4, #4) offered up originals from "Bones" (7.09 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.0, #10) and "The Mob Doctor" (3.46 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11).

And finally, the return of "90210" (1.00 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12) and "Gossip Girl" (0.77 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.4, #13) on The CW (0.88 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.4, #5) closed out the night. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "90210" delivered a 0.7 rating while "Gossip Girl" posted a 0.8 rating.

* In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 2.7/7; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.5/6; and ABC's combo of "Nightline," 3.0/7; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.6/5.

* In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," 0.8/4; "Late Show," 0.7/3; "Nightline," 0.9/4; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3.

* At 12:35 a.m., "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (1.4/5 in metered-market households) beat CBS's first-run "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.2/4). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped "Late Late Show" (0.4/3).

* At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.9/4 in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (10/10/11):

CBS (11.11 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 3.9, #1) held onto the demo crown on Monday with its mix of "How I Met Your Mother" (8.94 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 3.9, #4), "2 Broke Girls" (10.59 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 4.2, #2), "Two and a Half Men" (15.89 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 5.8, #1), "Mike & Molly" (11.76 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 4.0, #3) and "Hawaii Five-0" (9.74 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 2.6, #T7).

Second place then went to ABC (15.06 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.9, #2) with fresh installments of "Dancing With the Stars" (16.99 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 3.1, #6) and "Castle" (11.18 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.4, #9).

Next up was FOX (7.69 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 2.7, #3) with a "ALCS, Game 2 Overrun" (10.35 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 3.4, #5) followed by new episodes of "Terra Nova" (6.87 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 2.6, #T7) and "House" (5.85 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 2.3, #10).

Meanwhile, NBC (3.84 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.2, #4) offered up a new "The Sing-Off" (4.30 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.4, #11) and a repeat of "Prime Suspect" (2.94 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #12).

And finally, new episodes of "Gossip Girl" (1.34 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T13) and "Hart of Dixie" (1.52 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T13) on The CW (1.43 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.6, #5) closed out the evening. In the netlet's target demo (women 18-34), "Gossip Girl" delivered a 1.2 rating while "Dixie" posted a 1.1 rating.
