In an interview with TV Line, THE OFFICE showrunner Greg Daniels announced the show has a slight surprise rooted for audiences in 2013: the pilot for the cancelled spin-off series, The Farm, will be edited and broadcast as a normal OFFICE episode in Spring 2013.

"We're not going to air exactly what it was, because it has certain aspects that were appropriate for a pilot of a new show," Daniels tells the site. "We're going to shoot a little additional material to make it fit into the season more."

The Farm was set to follow OFFICE offbeat Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) and his family, who run a local beet farm in Scranton, PA.

Matt Jones, Majandra Delfino, Thomas Middleditch, and Blake Garrett were to also star.

In October, Wilson took to his Twitter account to announce that "NBC has passed on moving forward with The Farm TV show," Wilson writes. "Had a blast making the pilot - onwards & upwards!"

No word yet on when the modified FARM pilot will air as part of THE OFFICE's Spring 2013 slate. BWW TV World will keep you updated as more details emerge.
