Meryl Streep, Amy Adams and Carrie Fisher will appear on THE VIEW Friday, Dec. 12.

Meryl Streep and Amy Adams will be on to discuss their new firlm 'DOUBT.' Set at a Catholic school in the Bronx, it centers on a nun who grows suspicious when a priest begins taking too much interest in the life of a young black student.

'DOUBT' is directed by John Patrick Shanley and also stars Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Considered by many movie reviewers to be the greatest living film actress, Meryl Streep has been nominated for the Academy Award an astonishing 14 times, and has won it twice. She gave an outstanding performance in her first film role, Julia (1977), and the next year she was nominated for her first Oscar for her role in The Deer Hunter (1978). She went on to win the Academy Award for her performances in Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) and Sophie's Choice (1982.) Her other film credits include: Silkwood (1983), Out of Africa (1985), Ironweed (1987), Evil Angels (1988), The Bridges of Madison County (1995), Marvin's Room (1996) and many more.

Adams received an Oscar nod as Best Supporting Actress for her work in the independent film hit Junebug. Adams' other film credits include Charlie Wilson's War, Enchanted, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Fast Track, Standing Still, Catch Me If You Can, Pumpkin, Cruel Intentions 2 and Psycho Beach Party. TV credits include "The Office" and "Smallville."

A child star of a child star, Fisher says that she grew up in her mother's nightclub act. Weaned on eccentricity and nurtured by the neglect of parental narcissism, she jokes that she has spent her entire life trying to Make Up For being "virtually unattended" at birth. As a youngster, she shared a bedroom with a troubled child orphaned by parents more or less related to her through six degrees of marriage and divorce. As a teen, she witnessed the parade of stepmothers who came in and out of her father's life, one not much older than herself. In her 20s she rocketed to fame in Star Wars, had two failed marriages to the same man, wrote the very successful novel and subsequent screenplay for the scathingly funny semi-autobiographical Postcards from the Edge, and got admitted to rehab for the first of many times. A drug addict and alcoholic later diagnosed with manic depression (now called bipolar disorder), Fisher today at 52 could be considered the poster child for survival.THE VIEW, recipient of the 2003 Daytime Emmy® Award for "Outstanding Talk Show," is ABC Daytime's morning chatfest, featuring a team of dynamic women of different ages, experiences and backgrounds discussing the most exciting events of the day.
