From Elon Musk, Jack Ma and Shonda Rhimes to Gisel Ruiz, Jan Koum and Tory Burch, CNBC, First in Business Worldwide, today revealed The Next List, a definitive list of people who will be instrumental in shaping business, finance, and thus our world, over the next 25 years.

"As much as the business landscape has been transformed over these past 25 years, the next quarter century promises to be even more extraordinary. CNBC prides itself on its ability to look around corners and while no one can predict with certainty what will happen by 2039, there will be ideas that are breathtaking and investment opportunities that are life-changing," said Nikhil Deogun, Senior Vice President & Editor in Chief, CNBC Business News. "What we have attempted to do is spotlight those individuals we think will be at the forefront of those changes."

CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin, co-anchor of "Squawk Box" (M-F, 6AM-9AM ET) will lead the network's on-air coverage. CNBC will feature hits throughout Business Day programming today and will have continuing coverage of the list all month.
