According to EW, Abby Elliott has landed a multi-episode story arc on the new season of CBS's HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. The comedian recently announced that she would be leaving her post at NBC's 'Saturday Night Live' after four seasons.

The show's executive producer, Craig Thomas, tells EW, “We’re thrilled to have the hilarious Abby Elliott joining us in an arc as Janeane, the craziest girl the HIMYM gang has ever encountered. And the strange, inexplicable phenomenon is: the crazier Janeane gets, the more attractive one of the gang finds her. It doesn’t end well.”

Among the many celebrity impressions Elliott took on during her tenure at SNL were Khloe Kardashian, Angelia Jolie and Christina Aguilera to Zooey Deschanel, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence. She has also appeared in the recent films No Strings Attached and High Road.

Elliott's father, well-known comedian Chris Elliott, has also recurred in the CBS comedy, portraying Lily’s (Alyson Hannigan) father, Mickey Aldrin. Abby Elliott’s first episode is set to air  sometime in 2013.

The new season of CBS's HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER premieres September 24th.
