As first reported on Deadline.com, actors Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Reynolds will be starring in the upcoming Indie film BIG EYES. The film was written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewki and will be directed by the duo as well.

The actors will star as Margaret and Walter Keane, a real life husband and wife team of artists best known for their portraits of children with large eye features. Their works became a marketing sensation during the decades of the 1950's and 60's. Walter was the more visable half of the couple, often appearing on TV shows to promote their pieces while his wife created the majority of the art work. Eventually, the couple split up and Margaret set out on a mission to claim the majority of credit for the couples masterpieces.

After years of attempting to make the film, Alexander and Karaszewski issued a joint statement reflecting their excitement at the casting news. "We are ecstatic to have this dream cast for our dream project. Walter is a larger-than-life antihero - charming, funny, dangerous, and a little crazy. Ryan will knock it out of the park. As for Reese, she will be perfect as Margaret - soulful, decent, transforming from vulnerability to learning to fight for herself."

Shooting on the film is set to begin this spring.
