Phylicia Rashad, Jeremy Jordan and More to Star in OUTLIVING EMILY

Variety writes that stage and screen vet Phylicia Rashad has joined the film OUTLIVING EMILY, along with Broadway's Jeremy Jordan. Eric Weber writes and directs with Josh Sugarman producing via Tenafly Film Co.

OUTLIVING EMILY centers on a couple, Tim and Emily Hanratty, and follows their relationship and marriage over the course of half a century.

There will be six vignettes played by 12 different actors; Olympia Dukakis and Louis Zorich will portray the Hanrattys in their final segment.

Also in the cast are Alexis Bledel, Andre Braugher, Luke Brandon Field, Kal Penn and Adam Rose.

Rashad's recent film work includes Gods Behaving Badly, Lifetime's TV movie version of Steel Magnolias, Good Deeds, For Colored Girls, Frankie & Alice and more, as well as the TV series Psych, Do No Harm and The Cleveland Show. She last appeared on Broadway in 2008's Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Before that, she was seen in August: Osage County, Cymbeline, Gem of the Ocean, A Raisin in the Sun, Jelly's Last Jam, Into the Woods, Dreamgirls and The Wiz. She won the 2004 Tony and Drama Desk awards for Best Actress in a Play for A Raisin in the Sun.

Jordan has starred on Broadway in Newsies, Bonnie and Clyde, Rock of Ages and West Side Story. He will next be seen in the film adaptation of Jason Robert Brown's musical The Last Five Years, opposite Anna Kendrick. He also starred in NBC's musical drama series Smash.
