Patricia Carkson Leads 'Brother's Keeper' Flick

Patricia Clarkson, is joined by Devon Graye, Madeleine Martin, Danny Glover and wrestling champ John Cena in the WWE film Brother's Keeper, a PG-rated family drama. The film, by John Posey, is being directed by Mel Damski (Mischief).

Brothers Keeper tells the story of a teenage boy (Graye) who attempts to reunite his mother (Clarkson) and estranged older brother (Cena) after the death of their wrestling legend father 10 years before. The teenager joins the school wrestling team in attempt to unite the family.

Mike Pavoe and Steve Barnett of WWE are executive producing with, WWE Studios Vice President David Calloway ("The O.C.") producing. 

The project began filming today in New Orleans.

The CAA-repped Clarkson had roles in the Woody Allen films "Whatever Works" and "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." She next appears in Martin Scorsese's "Shutter Island," which hits theaters in February.

Actress Patricia Clarkson won an Emmy Award for her appearance it the HBO series SIX FEET UNDER, and was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in the film PIECES OF APRIL. In 2003, she gained critical acclaim and a Special Jury Prize for her work in four films that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival : ALL THE REAL GIRLS, THE BARONESS AND THE PIG, THE STATION AGENT and PIECES OF APRIL. Ms. Clarkson's stage credits include the aforementioned RAISED IN CAPTIVITY and THE MAIDEN'S PRAYER both at The Vineyard, THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES and EASTERN STANDARD both on Broadway, THE MADERATI (Playwrights Horizons) and THREE DAYS OF RAIN (Manhattan Theatre Club).
