The New Zealand detective series THE BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES, Series 3 debuts on DVD and Blu-ray on March 21, 2017 from Acorn, an RLJ Entertainment, Inc. (NASDAQ: RLJE) brand. After transferring from a big city to the small town of Brokenwood, Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Shepherd continues to settle into country life working with his assistant, Detective Kristin Sims. Despite the growing accord between the mismatched pair, all is not well in Brokenwood, where passions simmering beneath the sleepy surface regularly erupt into gruesome crimes.

The DVD 4-Disc and Blu-ray 2-Disc sets highlight four feature-length, standalone mysteries featuring compelling characters, dry humor, and piquant wit ($59.99 each, AcornOnline.com). Series 3 made its U.S. premiere in December 2016 on Acorn TV, the premier streaming service for world-class television from Britain and beyond.

Despite relishing the leisurely ways and quaint charms of country life, Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Shepherd (Neill Rea, Go Girls) knows all is not well in the picturesque but murder-ridden town of Brokenwood. Along with his methodical partner, Detective Kristin Sims (Fern Sutherland, The Almighty Johnsons), and eager young DC Sam Breen (Nic Sampson, Go Girls), Shepherd must confront the violent impulses and roiling passions that can mar even the most serene locales. In these four feature-length mysteries, the detectives investigate the death of a 'Lord of the Ringz' tour guide, a real-life Clue board game gone wrong, the death of a classic-car enthusiast and someone killing the Christmas spirit.
