New York Mets Ink Minor League Contract with Former NFL Player Tim Tebow

Today, the New York Mets announced on their official Twitter page that they have signed former NFL player Tim Tebow to a minor league contract. According to the post, Tebow will participate in the team's Instructional League.

An instructional leagues are where teams begin the earliest stages of development on players who either require further experience or for long-injured players who require some game time during their rehab process. Most commonly, players in the instructionals are no where near ready to play in the major league.
