Deadline.com has just revealed that RED star Alfred Molina will be teaming up with Twilight's Taylor Lautner for the upcoming Abduction film. In the Lionsgate feature, a young man (Lautner) discovers that he was kidnapped as a child and sets out to find his birth parents.  Chaos and danger ensue. Molina will star as the CIA agent who assists Lautner in finding his kin alive.

The film is penned by Shawn Christensen and is directed by John Singleton.  Producers are Gotham Group's Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Lee Stollman, Vertigo's Roy Lee and Doug Davison, Tailor Made's Dan Lautner and Pat Crowley.  Additional production details have not yet been released.

Molina will next be on screen in The Prince of Persia starring Jake Gyllenhaal.  He recently completed filming for The Sorcerer's Apprentice.  In the meantime, he can be found at The Golden Theatre alongside Eddie Redmayne in RED, which plays through June 27, 2010.  Both men are up for Tony Awards in June.

RED opened December 8, 2009 at the Donmar. The production was nominated for three 2010 Olivier Awards, including Best Play, with Eddie Redmayne winning the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. For tickets and more information, visit www.RedOnBroadway.com.
