TVLine reports that Miriam Shor has just joined the cast of the CBS drama series THE GOOD WIFE in the recurring role of a reporter. The news comes just two days after actress Kristin Chenoweth announced she would not be able to continue her role as a reporter on the show due to injuries sustained when she was struck by a piece of lighting equipment on the set.

Chenoweth told People.com, "It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return toThe Good Wife. [I'm] getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern."

A source for the show said that Shor is not "replacing" the actress, and that it was always the intention to have multiple reporters in the upcoming season's storyline. However TVLine maintains that it seems logical the actress is, to some degree, filling the "now-vacant political journalist void" left by Chenoweth's departure.

Shor played business mogul Cricket Caruth-Reilly on the recent short-lived ABC nighttime drama GCB, a series which also starred Chenoweth. Her other TV credits include Damages, Swingtown and MildrEd Pierce.

The Good Wife‘s fourth season premieres on Sunday, September 30 at 9/8c.
