Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth Announce Engagement

People.com reports that Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth have officially announced their engagement. The couple's rep confirmed the news to People. Hemsworth and Cyrus have been dating for three years.

Cyrus told People, "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam." The 19-year-old actress met Hemsworth, 22 while co-starring in the 2009 film, 'The Last Song.' According to the report, the Hunger Games star proposed to his girlfriend on May 31 with a 3.5 carat diamond ring from Neil Lane Jewelers.

The former Hannah Montana star is currently working in the studio on an upcoming album. Hemsworth is shooting the film 'Empire State' in New Orleans. He will soon begin work on "Paranoia" opposite Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman. The actor will also recreate his role in the second installment of The Hunger Games.
