This summer, experience the magic, excitement and passion of the smash-hit Lord of the Dance like never before as the eagerly-anticipated film Michael Flatley Returns as Lord of the Dance arrives on Blu-ray and DVD from Entertainment One. Since its premiere in 1996, Lord of the Dance has been captivating audiences and critics around the globe and has grossed over ONE BILLION dollars worldwide. On St. Patrick's Day 2011, fans everywhere had the opportunity to see the world-famous Lord of the Dance and its creator, producer, director and star Michael Flatley on movie screens in a special, 3D-presentation motion picture run. Now, audiences will have the opportunity to celebrate the film and its international superstar Michael Flatley at home with the eagerly-anticipated Blu-ray ($29.98 suggested retail price) and DVD ($24.98 suggested retail price) release arriving in stores on June 28th.

Acclaimed multi-camera specialist, director Marcus Viner has collaborated with Flatley to capture the show's incredible energy and its ability to cross boundaries of age, gender and cultural diversity in state-of-the art HD. The spectacular new set design, lighting, special effects and costumes have captivated audiences and made the show an unforgettable experience. Featuring unprecedented access to Flatley's performance and exclusive behind the scenes footage, you'll never be closer to the action than this. Extras on the Blu-ray and DVD release include a Behind-the-Scenes Featurette and four additional songs and dances from the show not seen in movie theaters.

"Between the grand scale of the show and total access to the cast, the film creates an experience as if the audience is right with me on stage which the viewer can experience from his or her own home," says Michael Flatley, creator of Lord of the Dance. "We have toured all over the world for almost two decades, however there have been cities that we could not accommodate due to the grand scale of the production. Now with the DVD release, we are finally able to reach audiences and fans we weren't able to in the past, and I promise we won't disappoint," continues Flatley.
A timeless story, Lord of the Dance is inspired by ancient Irish folklore and features the ‘Lord of the Dance' battling against an evil force for control of ‘Planet Ireland.' Its universal themes of good versus evil and love triumphing over all ensure it is perfect viewing for the whole family, young and old.

Lord of the Dance has been seen by over sixty million people in sixty different countries on every continent. Flatley sold out twenty one consecutive nights at London's world famous Wembley Arena; he debuted in New York at Radio City Music Hall, selling out thirteen consecutive nights and went on to appear at the legendary Madison Square Garden; he sold out within days of going on sale in Australia and broke all known box office records in South Africa. The show completed a remarkable six-year residency in Las Vegas and performed before an audience of over one hundred thousand in a football stadium in Budapest, Hungary.

Michael Flatley Returns as Lord of the Dance was produced by UK-based 3D Production Company Nineteen Fifteen Productions in association with ITN Productions and is distributed worldwide by Kaleidoscope Film Distribution.
