Deadline reports exclusively that Warner Bros Television will bring Nathan Hill's hit novel THE NIX to a limited television series starring Oscar winner Meryl Streep. JJ Abrams will produce and most likely direct several of the episodes.

Hill's debut novel is described as "a sprawling generational tale that focuses on a hippie era mother who gets national press exposure for throwing rocks at a conservative governor on the presidential campaign trail. Before you know it, her estranged son, a professor, aspiring novelist and general underachiever, seizes an opportunity to get himself out debt by writing a scathing profile of his estranged mother."

Streep can currently be seen on the big screen in FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS, a role for which she is already receiving Oscar buzz for. Abrams most recently directed the mega hit film Star Wars: The Force Awakens and serves as executive producer on the Westworld series for HBO.
