MAD MAX: FURY ROAD's Colin Gibson (Production Design) and Lisa Thompson (Set Decoration) have won the Academy Award for Production Design. Other nominees in the category include Bridge of Spies, The Danish Girl, The Martian and The Revenant.

These are the first Academy Award nominations for Colin Gibson and Lisa Thompson.

MAD MAX FILM SYNOPSIS: Years after an apocalypse has devastated the world, Australia has become a wasteland ruled by outlaws hoarding fuel, water and other resources. Desperate to escape a TYRANT called Immortan Joe, loner Max Rockatansky joins forces with Imperator Furiosa, who is fleeing from Joe and his fanatical followers with a precious cargo that she has smuggled from Joe's stronghold.

The 88th ACADEMY AWARDS are taking place tonight, Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood, and are being televised live by the ABCTelevision Network. The Oscar presentation is also being televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide. Comedian, actor and filmmaker Chris Rock returns as host of the event for a second time.
