Loretta Devine Joins Cast of USA's SIRENS

TVGuide reports that Broadway vet LorEtta Devine will join the cast of USA's upcoming comedy SIRENS. The actress will appear in a multi-episode story arc.

Sirens, from Denis Leary and Bob Fisher centers on "three Chicago EMTs whose self-righteous and self-destructive personalities make them unfit for long-term relationships and most occupations." Devine will portray Hank's "no-nonsense, church-going mother for two episodes."

Production on the comedy is set to begin next Wednesday and will premiere in early 2014.

Devine's Broadway credits include DREAMGIRLS, HAIR, COMIN' UPTOWN and BIG DEAL. She made a cameo appearance in the film version of DREAMGIRLS. Her television credits include A DIFFERENT WORLD, EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, BOSTON LEGAL and ELI STONE.'

Upcoming projects include Khumba, You're Not You, A Very Larry Christmas and Norm of the North. Her past film credits include In the Hive, Politics of Love, Jumping the Broom, Madea's Big Happy Family, For Colored Girls, Death at a Funeral, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Dreamgirls, Crash and more. TV credits include The Client List, Grey's Anatomy, Doc McStuffins, Stage of Georgia, Eli Stone, The PJs, Wild Card, Boston Public and A Different World.
