After months of rumors, Access Hollywood has finally confirmed that troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has officially been cast in the role of the legendary Elizabeth Taylor for an upcoming biopic on the Lifetime Network. The project, which has been in development since last May, will be produced by Larry Thompson.

It seems that the actress may actually have a chance of reviving her stalled career after years of brushes with the law. Yesterday, NBC revealed that Lohan would be returning for her fourth stint as host of the long-running sketch comedy 'Saturday Night Live' on March 3rd. And yesterday, a source confirmed to Access Hollywood's Billy Bush that Lohan has won the role of Taylor in the upcoming TV movie LIZ AND DICK.

The gig, however is contingent on the promise that the actress will stay out of legal trouble, according to the source. The actress is currently finishing up a community service assignment she received after pleading guilty last spring to stealing an expensive necklace from a California jewelry store. She served five weeks of home confinement over the summer in connection with the theft.

Lohan recently posed nude in a spread for Playboy magazine in December for a reported $1 million. She was last seen on the big screen in 2010's 'Machete' and on TV in 2009's 'Labor Pains'.
