Lifetime and Sony Pictures TV reportedly came to a mutual agreement about ending the series.

Rumors suggest that both Lifetime and Sony disagreed with Hewitt's suggestions for possible story lines for a third season. Hewitt wanted her fiancé Brian Hallisay to play the father of her character Riley's baby on the show.

Based on Lifetime's hit 2010 original movie, THE CLIENT LIST is executive produced by Hewitt, Dannielle Thomas (THE CLIENT LIST), Howard Braunstein (THE CLIENT LIST, THE INFORMANT!), Ed Decter (IN PLAIN SIGHT, THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY), John J. Strauss (IN PLAIN SIGHT, THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY), Michael Reisz (IN PLAIN SIGHT, BOSTON LEGAL) and Allan Arkush (HEROES, CROSSING JORDAN), who also serves as director, with Fedora Films and Jaffe/Braunstein producing, in association with Sony Pictures Television. It was developed by Jordan Budde.
