Lambert and Allen 'IDOL Duel' Showcased in NY Daily News

Glam rock inspired dynamo Adam Lambert and clean-cut guitar and piano player Kris Allen will compete for the title of "American Idol" in the eighth season finale.

The two-part finale begins tonight and concludes Wednesday spotlights Lambert as the clear favorite of the show's four judges, while Allen is seen as this season's dark horse and has a huge fan base of teenage girls.

Over 88 million people voted last week, the voting for the Idol finale is expected to break all past seasons records.

Previous "Idol" winners David Cook and Carrie Underwood will also sing on the two-night finale. Underwood will perform on tonight's episode, which will feature Lambert, a 27-year-old theater actor from San Diego, and Allen, a 23-year-old college student from Conway, Ark., fighting it out for a record contract and the title of "American Idol."

In addition to performing in WICKEDAdam Lambert also had a role in The Ten Commandments and appeared in The Zodiac Show.
