[SPOILER ALERT] The following article reveals a major plot twist from the new season of GAME OF THRONES]

Those who tuned in to last night's episode of HBO's GAME OF THRONES finally learned the news that Jon Snow, a fan favorite who appeared to have been murdered at the end of last season, is actually quite alive. The Lord Commander was brought back to life by the sorceress Melisandre. The plot twist ended several months of rumors and speculation as to whether Kit Harrington's character was truly dead.

Now, in an exclusive interview with EW, Harrington apologized to his fans for putting them through the turmoil. "Sorry!" exclaimed the GAME OF THRONES star in the interview published after Sunday night's broadcast. "I'd like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I'm glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, 'Fine, Jon Snow's dead.' But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I'm doing - or the show is doing - is right."
