Julie Chen Officially Leaves THE TALK

Julie Chen is officially leaving THE TALK. Chen has stepped down as co-host of the CBS talk show after her husband, Les Moonves, was removed as the chairman and CEO of CBS after allegations of sexual assault.

On today's episode, Chen made the announcement in a pre-recorded video message. She is emotional when she says how the cast, crew, and staff have become family to her. Sara Gilbert, one of the show's co-hosts, thanked Chen for her friendship and help with the show. Watch the segment below.

Chen also hosts another CBS show, BIG BROTHER. No word yet on if she'll be leaving the summer reality show, too.

Moonves was removed from CBS after Ronan Farrow, in a New Yorker article, came forward to tell the story of six women who had approached him with claims of sexual assault from Moonves and that these claims extend out into the workplace, where other men accused received promotions instead of firings.

Chen and Moonves have been married since 2004 and together they have one son, Charlie.
