Silverton comes to eOne with more than twenty years of experience creating marquee reality television franchises and brings her extensive expertise to oversee development of the world-class alternative television slate for the independent studio. Silverton will work closely with Mark Herwick, Senior Vice President, Current, Alternative Programming, eOne Television and recently promoted Benjamin Megargel, Vice President, Development, eOne Television.

"Julia has a proven track record of identifying, developing and launching bold and original series," said Tara Long, EVP, Alternative Programming, eOne Television. "Julia's background and talent as a showrunner and development executive will be an invaluable asset as we continue to grow eOne's alternative programming slate."

In her previous role as Vice President of Development at CMT, Julia oversaw the production of scripted and unscripted series for CMT. She successfully ushered in a line-up of hit series including Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge, one of CMT's most successful series of all time and winner of the 2016 DGA Award for Best Reality Show. She launched the scripted department by overseeing CMT's first 30-minute comedy, followed by Sun Records, a period drama about the iconic record label. Before joining CMT, Julia was a show runner for more than 10 years. She began her career in the United Kingdom, eventually producing one of the country's first docu-series, Motorway, in 1997. Since returning to the States, she has interviewed four U.S. Presidents, directed multiple music videos and produced hundreds of hours of television for some of reality's most defining series, from The Surreal Life to Intervention.

"It is an exciting time at eOne and I am thrilled to be joining Tara and the team," said Silverton. "The year ahead is shaping up to be incredibly dynamic and I'm ready to hit the ground running as we take our slate to the next level."
