In theaters everywhere tomorrow, MISS SLOANE fictionalizes the fight for gun reform on Capitol Hill. It tells the story of a lobbyist (Chastain) hired by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence to help pass a bill in the Senate expanding Brady background checks to all gun sales. Last year, the film's writers, producers, and cast met with Dan Gross, president of the real Brady Campaign, for advice, guidance, and insight as the script and characters were developed.

Gross said, "We're thankful to the film's team for not only seeking out our help with this project, but for tackling the issue of gun violence and bringing it to a broader audience on the silver screen. Trust me, this movie will spark the ongoing conversation about gun violence that we must continue to have in this country.

"Working with the entertainment industry to integrate the realities of gun violence into television and film has been a key piece of Brady's strategy over the past year and we couldn't be more pleased with the results we are seeing in movie theaters, on television, and online.

"This is Hollywood, and of course liberties were taken for the sake of a well-paced thriller. But there were some clear challenges that they got right. We are outspent by the corporate gun lobby. Nearly all Americans do support background checks - 93 percent, to be exact. And yes, gun violence is a preventable public health crisis.

"Miss Sloane is a work of fiction, but the fight it depicts is very real - it's happening right now on Capitol Hill and in communities all across the country. Politics often makes for good drama. On Capitol Hill, too many politicians put the interests and profits of the gun industry aheads of the safety of their own constituents.

"The movie ends with a victory we haven't yet celebrated, but that by no means makes this film fantasy. Even on a disappointing election day we saw historic success as Nevada became the seventh state to expand Brady background checks to all gun sales.

"In real life, it's not going to be a high-rolling, play-by-her-own-rules lobbyist who ultimately wins this fight in Washington. It's going to be the coalition of millions of Americans from all walks of life, a coalition that already exists, made up of people who have had #ENOUGH of gun violence and #ENOUGH of the craven politicians who kowtow to the corporate gun lobby."

Miss Sloane marks another chapter in Brady's longstanding partnership with Hollywood to integrate the realities of gun violence into entertainment. Brady has consulted on scripts for powerhouse television shows including THE GOOD WIFE and Grey's Anatomy.
