Jesse Williams to Become 'Grey's Anatomy' Regular

Actor Jesse Williams, who plays DR. Jackson Avery on the ABC series 'Grey's Anatomy,' will become a regular for the show's seventh season, Entertainment Weekly has reported. 

Williams appeared Off-Broadway in THE AMERICAN DREAM and THE SANDBOX, two plays written and directed by Edward Albee.  On film, Williams has appeared in 'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2' and 'Brooklyn's Finest' and will star in the upcoming 'The Cabin in the Woods.'  His other television credits include 'The Greek.'

'Grey's Anatomy,' which first aired in March 2005, is a medical drama focusing on the staff of a hospital in Seattle.  The series has received two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards.  In addition to Williams, the seventh season's main cast will include Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Junior, Sara Ramirez, Eric Dane, Chyler Leigh, Kevin McKidd, Jessica Capshaw, Kim Raver, Sarah Drew, and Patrick Dempsey.

Grey's Anatomy airs Thursdays at 9pm/8pm central on ABC.
