Jeremy Renner, Julianne Moore to Star in Musical Dramedy IMAGINE

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jeremy Renner and Julianne Moore will join previously announced cast member Al Pacino in the upcoming musical dramedy IMAGINE from Inimitable Pictures and Mister Smith Entertainment. DAN FOGELMAN will make his directorial debut on the film.

IMAGINE will tell the story of " an aging rocker who receives a letter from John Lennon." No details have been released as to the roles the actors will play.

Renner is known for his starring roles in The Hurt Locker (2009), which garnered him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), Marvel's The Avengers (2012), and The Bourne Legacy (2012). He has also appeared in Dahmer (2002) and Neo Ned (2005). He also offered supporting acting work in bigger films, S.W.A.T. (2003) and 28 Weeks Later (2007). He starred in The Town (2010) for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Julianne Moore has appeared in in films such as The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992) and Short Cuts (1993), Nine Months and Assassins. Boogie Nights (1997) brought her widespread attention and her first Academy Award nomination.

Other film credits include The Big Lebowski (1998), Magnolia (1999), Hannibal (2001), and The Forgotten (2004). She also received three more Academy Award nominations for her performances in The End of the Affair (1999), Far From Heaven and The Hours (both 2002). Her most recent notable roles include The Kids Are All Right (2010), Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011), and the HBO film Game Change (2012), in which she portrayed Sarah Palin.
